Philanthropy
Giving back is something we do together. Through cooking meals, spending time with older adults, supporting community organizations, and fundraising for causes we care about, Phi Chi members make service part of their Michigan experience. These opportunities bring us closer as a chapter while reminding us how much showing up for others matters.
-
Ronald McDonald House Meals: Members come together to cook meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House while their children receive medical care. Preparing a meal is a practical way to offer comfort and support during a difficult time.
-
Homeless Shelter Volunteering: Through cooking and volunteering at local shelters, members support people experiencing homelessness and contribute to the community beyond campus.
-
Fundraising for Causes Chosen by Our Chapter: Members vote on the cause Phi Chi will support, giving everyone a voice in our philanthropic efforts. Through raffles and other fundraisers, we work together to raise money and awareness for the selected organization.
-
NMDP: Our service efforts include supporting NMDP and its mission to help patients in need of blood stem cell transplants find a donor match.
-
Fleece & Thank You: Members participate in blanket-making efforts that offer comfort to children receiving medical care. It’s a chance to create something meaningful together for someone who needs it.
-
Blueprints for Pangaea: This November, members will volunteer at Blueprints for Pangaea’s Ann Arbor warehouse, supporting its work to redistribute surplus medical supplies to communities in need.
-
Campus Collaborations & Blooming Pals: We work with clubs across campus to bring members together through service. Through collaborations with organizations such as Blooming Pals, we help brighten older adults’ days with flowers, thoughtful notes, and time spent together. These experiences let us build friendships across student organizations while connecting with the wider Ann Arbor community.
Our philanthropy continues to grow through new partnerships and member ideas. Whether you’re cooking, volunteering, fundraising, or simply taking time to connect with someone, there are many ways to get involved and serve alongside your Phi Chi friends.
